Maldon Comprehensive and Junior High School

Maldon High School, located in southern St James at Summer Hill, near Maroon Town, was officially opened on September 1, 1969, as a junior secondary high school. It operated on a single shift, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 3:30 p.m., and accommodated approximately 540 students, sent through feeder school, in grades seven to nine. There were also 20 teachers, a bursar, three members of the administrative staff and eight persons on the ancillary staff. The first principal and chairman were Mr Stanley Buddle and Reverend Edwards, respectively.
