March10thFri Voltage and Using Electronics in Jamaica

An often overlooked piece of information when traveling to the Caribbean is the voltage and using electronics in Jamaica. Electrical sockets (outlets) in Jamaica usually supply electricity at between 110 and 120 volts – this is the same as the U.S.A., the Caribbean, Canada and most South American countries. If the standard voltage in your country is in the range of 220 - 240 volts (as is in the U.K., Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia), then you will need to buy or bring an adapter to use your own electronics. A convertible adapter will also give you the plug configuration you need as Jamaica also mimics the Americas.
